About Fractional Skin Resurfacing
At DermaEnvy Skincare™, our Fractional Radio Frequency, or RF, resurfacing treatments are designed to improve acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, and mild to moderate skin laxity. This treatment stimulates deep collagen remodeling while preserving the integrity of the skin’s surface.
Using advanced multi-polar RF technology, we deliver controlled thermal energy into the dermis to promote structural skin renewal.
If you are seeking progressive, clinically guided skin rejuvenation, Fractional RF may be an appropriate option.
How Does Fractional RF Work?
Fractional RF works through a structured biological process:
Step 1: Controlled Energy Delivery
Precise thermal energy is delivered into the dermis, the layer responsible for collagen and elastin support.
Step 2: Targeted Micro-Stimulation
The heat creates controlled micro-injuries beneath the surface. These are intentional and carefully regulated to activate the body’s natural healing response.
Step 3: Collagen and Elastin Production
In response to this stimulation, the skin begins producing new collagen and elastin while remodeling existing tissue.
Step 4: Structural Skin Renewal
As collagen regenerates and reorganizes, the skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more refined. Scars gradually soften, laxity improves, and overall tone and texture become more even.
Step 5: Progressive Improvement Over Time
Because remodeling occurs at a structural level, results continue to develop for three to six months following treatment. The improvement is gradual and long-lasting rather than temporary.

3 Days Before Treatment
Discontinue the use of active skincare products such as Retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or other strong exfoliating agents. This helps reduce the risk of irritation and sensitivity during treatment.Day of Treatment
• Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, moisturizer, or sunscreen.
• Remove all jewelry and metal accessories before your appointment. If you have any new medications, skin changes, or concerns prior to your appointment, please inform our team.
Proper preparation supports a smoother treatment experience and optimal healing.
-
Proper aftercare is essential to support healing and optimize your results. Please follow these guidelines:
Soothing and Hydration
Apply a gentle hyaluronic acid serum or a soothing moisturizer to the treated area to keep the skin hydrated and supported during the healing process.
Avoid active ingredients such as Vitamin C, retinol, Retin-A, or strong exfoliating products for at least five days after treatment unless otherwise directed by your provider.
Skin Response
It is normal to experience mild redness, micro-crusting, and a temporary bronzed appearance. These effects typically last five to seven days as the skin renews itself.
Do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate the treated area. Allow the skin to shed naturally.
Activity Restrictions
Avoid intense workouts, hot tubs, saunas, and excessive heat exposure for twenty-four to forty-eight hours following treatment. Excess heat may increase inflammation and delay recovery.
If you have any unexpected reactions or concerns during healing, please contact our team for guidance.
Supporting your skin properly during recovery allows collagen remodeling to continue effectively and helps ensure optimal long-term results.
-
Fractional RF may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions.
Treatment is not recommended for those who are:
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Experiencing active infection or inflammation in the treatment area
Using isotretinoin
Living with active cancer
Using a pacemaker or implanted electrical device
Diagnosed with epilepsy or uncontrolled diabetes
Managing certain autoimmune conditions, such as lupus
Experiencing a recent herpes outbreak in the treatment area
Patients with a history of keloid scarring, poor wound healing, or use of photosensitizing medications may require further evaluation.
A comprehensive consultation is required to determine candidacy and ensure treatment safety.
The Science of
Collagen Remodeling
Fractional RF is an advanced resurfacing treatment that uses controlled thermal energy to rejuvenate the skin from within.
By delivering precise heat into the dermis, the treatment creates controlled micro-injuries that activate the body’s natural healing response. This process stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin while remodeling existing tissue.
As collagen regenerates and reorganizes, the skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more refined. Scars gradually soften, laxity improves, and overall tone and texture become more even.
Because this remodeling occurs at a structural level, results continue to develop for three to six months following treatment. The outcome is progressive, long-lasting improvement rather than temporary surface correction.
Advanced Multi-Polar RF Technology
Fractional RF at DermaEnvy Skincare™ uses advanced multi-polar radio frequency technology designed to deliver controlled heat directly into the collagen-producing layer of the skin.
Unlike many traditional resurfacing treatments that focus heavily on the skin’s surface, this technology concentrates energy where it matters most — within the dermis — while minimizing unnecessary surface disruption.
This allows for effective collagen stimulation with a more controlled recovery process.
What is Fractional RF?
Fractional Radio Frequency is a non-laser resurfacing treatment that delivers controlled heat directly into the dermis, the layer responsible for collagen and elastin production.
Unlike traditional fractional laser resurfacing, which relies on light energy and often creates more surface disruption, multi-polar RF technology concentrates energy precisely within the dermis while minimizing unnecessary injury to the epidermis.
This allows for:
• Targeted collagen stimulation
• Reduced surface damage
• Controlled recovery
• Structural remodeling rather than surface exfoliation
The treatment is described as fractional because only a portion of the skin is treated during each session. The surrounding tissue remains intact, supporting faster healing and balanced regeneration.

Fractional Resurfacing FAQs
-
Fractional RF resurfacing is designed to address structural skin concerns by stimulating collagen production within the dermis.
Common conditions treated include:
Acne scars
Surgical scars
Stretch marks
Fine lines and wrinkles
Enlarged pores
Uneven skin texture
Mild to moderate skin laxity
Rough or dull skin
Early signs of aging
Fractional RF is particularly effective for patients seeking deeper dermal remodeling without the extended downtime of traditional laser resurfacing.
-
Fractional RF resurfacing follows a structured clinical protocol to ensure safety and consistency.
First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and clinical photographs are taken for progress tracking. A topical numbing cream is applied under occlusion for approximately 45 to 60 minutes to improve comfort.
During treatment, a specialized RF handpiece delivers controlled thermal energy into the dermis using a fractional pattern. The energy creates microthermal zones beneath the surface while preserving surrounding tissue.
The treatment area is systematically covered using a precise overlap technique to ensure uniform collagen stimulation.
Following treatment, a soothing serum is applied to support healing.
-
Most patients describe the treatment as tolerable. A warming or mild prickling sensation may be experienced during the procedure.
Topical anesthetic is applied prior to treatment to maximize comfort. Sensitivity levels vary depending on treatment depth and the area being treated.
-
Fractional RF typically involves minimal to moderate downtime.
You may experience:
• Redness for 24 to 48 hours
• Mild swelling
• Micro-crusting or bronzing for approximately 5 to 7 daysMakeup is generally safe after 24 to 48 hours, depending on your provider’s recommendation.
Compared to traditional ablative laser resurfacing, recovery is typically shorter and more manageable.
-
Most patients benefit from a series of treatments.
A typical treatment plan includes:
3 to 4 sessions for facial rejuvenation
Sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart for the face
Sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart for the body
More advanced acne scarring or deeper structural concerns may require additional treatments.
Your provider will recommend a customized plan during consultation.
-
Fractional RF treatments at DermaEnvy Skincare™ follow structured clinical protocols to ensure safety, comfort, and consistent results.
Before Treatment
Your provider will complete a comprehensive medical review and take clinical photographs to track your progress. A topical anesthetic is then applied for approximately forty-five to sixty minutes to ensure comfort during the procedure.During Treatment
Controlled radio frequency energy is delivered to the targeted area using a precise overlap technique to ensure even coverage. Mild redness is expected and confirms effective dermal stimulation. After Treatment
A soothing serum is applied to support the healing process. Gentle skincare is recommended for five to seven days, and heat exposure, intense workouts, hot tubs, and saunas should be avoided for twenty-four to forty-eight hours.Your provider will review personalized aftercare instructions and answer any additional questions before you leave.
-
Initial improvements in texture may be noticeable within a few weeks.
However, collagen remodeling continues internally for several months. Full results typically develop over 3 to 6 months as the skin regenerates and strengthens.
Fractional RF is designed for progressive, long-term improvement rather than immediate surface change.
-
Fractional RF is suitable for a wide range of skin tones because it uses radio frequency energy rather than light-based technology.
A comprehensive consultation is required to determine candidacy. Certain medical conditions and medications may prevent treatment.
Your safety is assessed thoroughly prior to proceeding.
